Foundation Beyond Claude

The AI ecosystem map: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini

Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini are the three large language models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google respectively. They overlap in capability — all three can write, summarise, code, and reason — but differ in personality, context length, and which tools they plug into. Most teams pick one as their default and treat the others as fallbacks.

The short answer

Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini are the three large language models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google respectively. They overlap in capability — all three can write, summarise, code, and reason — but differ in personality, context length, and which tools they plug into. Most teams pick one as their default and treat the others as fallbacks.

How they actually differ

The marketing makes this sound complicated. It isn’t.

Claude (made by Anthropic) tends to be the most careful with nuance and the best at long documents. It will read 500 pages and remember page 1 when you ask about page 480. It’s the default choice when accuracy matters more than speed.

ChatGPT (made by OpenAI) was first to market and has the largest plugin and integration ecosystem. It’s the most fluent at quick chat and the most opinionated when you ask for advice. It’s the default for general use and for teams already using Microsoft tooling.

Gemini (made by Google) is tightly integrated with Google’s ecosystem — Drive, Docs, Gmail, Workspace. It’s the natural choice if your team lives in those tools and wants AI inside the apps you already use.

All three are good. The right one for you depends less on which is “smartest” — they’re close — and more on where your work already lives.

What this site uses

This site is Claude-first. Most of our recipes assume you have Claude Pro (₹1,800/month). The reasons are practical:

We’ll add Gemini and ChatGPT variants of foundational recipes over time. Most of what you’ll learn here transfers — the prompt patterns are similar across all three.

When to pick something other than Claude

A few clear cases:

For everything else — document work, drafting, analysis, code — Claude is a safe default.

The honest version

Picking between Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini in 2026 is like picking between AWS, Azure, and GCP in 2018. They’re all good. The differences matter at the margin. The right answer is usually “whichever your team will actually use.”

Don’t agonise. Pick one. Use it for a month. Switch if it’s wrong.
